Our department held its regular kick-off meeting for the 2026-2027 Fall Semester.

Our department held an academic board meeting to mark the beginning of the Fall Semester of the 2026-2027 academic year. Chaired by Head of Department Prof. Dr. Murat Ali Karavelioğlu, the meeting involved an evaluation of academic and administrative matters regarding the new term, as well as an exchange of views on the department's current activities and planned work for the upcoming period. The agenda included the appointment of department faculty member Prof. Dr. Nesrin Güllüdağ to the University Executive Board; she was congratulated, presented with flowers, and wished success in her new role. Additionally, flowers were presented to Assistant Professor Aynur Beşkonak, another faculty member, upon her appointment as Director of the Caucasus Studies Application and Research Center (KAFMER); she was also congratulated and wished success in her new position. The meeting further addressed the establishment of seven departmental commissions, as requested by the Dean's Office. These commissions—created to ensure the more effective and organized execution of the department's academic and administrative activities—were defined, and their members were designated. The meeting concluded with the sharing of well wishes for a productive and successful academic year for the department.
